National Press Club welcomes Lebone Litho Sponsorship for the 2024 Newsmaker of the year awards

The National Press Club (NPC) has announced Lebone Litho Printers as its gold table sponsor for the 2024 Newsmaker of the Year awards.

The generous sponsorship comes as a welcome addition to the existing support the NPC received from North West University as the main sponsor, further elevating the awards and event’s prestige and stature.

“At Lebone Litho Printers, we firmly believe in the transformative influence of a free and dynamic press in shaping our democracy and ensuring accountability among our leaders. This is why we take great pride in our support of the National Press Club awards, which commend the exceptional efforts of journalists who fearlessly pursue the truth and report it objectively. By acknowledging the bravery and dedication of these individuals, we aim to motivate and empower a future wave of journalists to carry on this vital mission,” announced Keith Michael, CEO of Lebone Litho Printers.

The Newsmaker of the Year Awards is a celebration of the remarkable achievements and contributions of journalists who have exhibited exceptional skill, courage, and dedication in their field.

“The sponsorship by Lebone Litho is a shot in the arm for our Newsmaker of the Year awards and comes as we are bracing ourselves for this year’s event that promises to take these august awards to a new level of excellence,” said NPC Acting Chairperson Antoinette Slabbert.

Slabbert also mentioned that the sponsorship will significantly enhance the prize money allocated to various categories for this annual award to be hosted on the 25th April at the CSIR.

The support from Lebone Litho Printers aligns with the National Press Club’s mission to honour outstanding professionals in the journalism and communications industry with the Spokesperson of the Year expected to be announced at the event.

With the collaboration and support from esteemed sponsors like Lebone Litho Printers and the main sponsor, North West University, this year’s event is set to be an extraordinary celebration.

JOINT STATEMENT ON THE DEVELOPMENTS REGARDING SIBUSISO NDLOVU AND HIS PARTNER ZODWA MDHLULI WHO HAVE BEEN MISSING SINCE MID-FEBRUARY 2025

Today it’s 28 days since the disappearance of our friend, colleague, and brother Sibusiso Aserie Ndlovu with his partner Zodwa Mdhluli. They were last seen on 18 February and since then there has been no trace or word regarding their whereabouts.

With each passing day, the families grow even more anxious and all of us become worried about their well-being.

It is troubling that for almost a month there isn’t a shred of evidence or lead as to where there might be or what has happened to them. It is for that reason that the African Media and Communicators Forum together with the National Press Club have joined forces to support the families.

The family has also enlisted the assistance of the Private Investigator Calvin Rafadi. The PI has since done some work which includes searching hospitals, mortuaries, hotels and other places of interest. Up to now there are no leads.

It is for that reason that a reward of R50, 000 is now offered to any persons who will provide good quality information that will assist the police with the investigation and the couple being found.

Anybody who has information is requested to contact Brigadier Mxolisi Edwin Nama – 082 778 9035 of the Provincial Head of the Serious and Violent Crime Investigations.
