Press club discussion evenings

The past year saw the spontaneous introduction of discussion evenings at the National Press Club. These evenings just happened and it worked. We discussed the court case between Moneyweb and Fin24, the dramas at the SABC, the role of women in the newsroom - to name a few. At our annual Percy Qoboza lecture, Kevin Ritchie addressed the role of the media in post-Apartheid South Africa. We hosted several newsmakers at media briefings throughout the year. Some briefings were more controversial than others and some made the news for the wrong reasons. We also celebrated our annual highlight on our calendar - our newsmaker event, sponsored by the Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University. To become involved in the press club, please send an email to admin@nationalpressclub.co.za.
